Late last month, a man was killed when a semi-truck hit him while he was riding his bicycle. According to a local news report, the accident occurred while the man was riding his bike around 12:15 p.m. in Brooks County, Georgia. Witnesses and officers stated that man was riding his bike east when a semi-truck hit him. Unfortunately, the man was killed instantly. The Sheriff’s office explained that, sadly, these sorts of accidents are common. He implored drivers to slow down when they see a bicyclist and that they should move into the other lane when they are passing a bicyclist.

bicycle-crossing-sign-1431139-mThe victim’s body was transferred to a crime lab in nearby Atlanta. Police officials told reporters that the truck driver, who works for David Trucking Company, is still being investigated. So far, charges are pending until the investigation is complete.

A Peachtree Corners man was sadly found dead in a creek early last week. A preliminary investigation seems to indicate that the man was in a biking accident. According to a police report and local news report, two women were walking around 7 a.m. when the body was found. Apparently, the man’s lifeless body was found near East Jones Bridge Road and Hallbrook Drive. His wife was contacted and identified his body at the scene of the accident.

The Georgia Police’s initial investigation reveals that it may be possible that the man was hit and as a result was thrown off the sidewalk, where he hit a concrete barrier and proceeded to fall into the creek. Currently, no charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
